Sailing Chesapeake Bay (Scout Adventure)
By admin on Nov 6, 2007 in Fun
I was on a business acquisition trip in Wash DC with 5 British guys when 9/11 occurred. Stranded, one of them had the ingenious idea that if we rented a 39′ sail boat and stayed on that for the week, it would be far less expensive than if each one of us reserved our own hotel room (if we could find any). We sailed out of Annapolis and just enjoyed life and reflected on the times. I remember thinking – I wish my kids could experience this…
I found out the Delmarva Council does indeed run what looks like a great sailing program on the bay. I am going to suggest this to my son for camp this year or just as a supplemental experience.
